Most times people find themselves one step behind, right place at the wrong time, the right person in the wrong place—a square peg in a round hole—alloy with a continuous negative feedback loop of intertwined bad luck. It is a common notion that you can't have a 9 to 5 and still be an entrepreneur. Take a step back and analyze the situation, is it—it can’t be done or it’s difficult to do? People accept the “can't” way of thinking way too easily, you hear people say “they said it can't be done”, why not witness it for yourself, why not question the answer you have been given, this is synonymous with being sick and not wanting to know why. What makes a possibility, is a one percent chance, the odds may not be in your favor but dismissing every possibility will make every turn in your life a blind alley. The power of positivity sets in a conformational change that puts you in a state to receive opportunities and yes not every door knocked on would be opened but Thomas Carlyle said: “experience takes dreadfully high school-wages, but he teaches like no other”. Developing the habit of saying “I will try” can be very hard but not to be cheesy, we all know that with great power comes great responsibility. I think our minds are in two states when confronted with missions, goals, or aspirations. The two states are the CAN’T and TRY states. The mental gaps between these states are connected by The Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge in China to give a clear sense of how wide a gap it is.
THE CAN’T STATE
The can’t state is the accumulation of negative thinking mostly as a result of the hard slap from reality, a flash in the pan, shattered expectations, a clamorous No! or most likely from fear as I stated in my previous newsletter. These stack up in your mental shelf and consequently put you in a recessive or closed confirmation leaving you insular. The power of negativity or as Millenials will have it—bad vibes, is so strong that you can sense it in the air like acrimonious fumes, and quite frankly imitates the resonance phenomenon where an external force or a vibrating system forces another system around it to vibrate with greater amplitude at a specified frequency of operation—it is contagious energy. The can’t state is a pessimistic attitude towards life and it limits the array of one’s potential possibilities, some may argue that being pessimistic cushions the shock from sudden disappointment but before you know it, it becomes your defense mechanism, your aegis. In a battle against life you can't always have your shield up at all times, it’s okay to stop defending and fight back like the virtuoso of war, the Spartans.
THE TRY STATE
The antonym of the can’t state at its core is the try state. The try state comes from a place of hope, optimism, belief, a stand back up mentality, and the unending desire to always move forward. In this mental state, you are in an open conformation ready to approach all possibilities. This state is often associated with worry. Worrying can be a source of motivation to get things done, but when it lingers on overtime, it leads to anxiety issues that can be detrimental to both mind and body. When someone tells me “try and see” it feels like I’m being convinced to buy a product but now I’m selling you a self-rejuvenating mental state and you bet it’s free.
Earlier on, I emphasized how wide a gap between these states is, apparently it can be crossed with an airplane. This airplane is putting to practice the power of trying, the power of positive thinking—good vibes.
Honestly, it is not easy but one way to start is, for every negative thought, remind yourself that there is a positive outcome and choose it. This isn’t assurance that things will work out the way you want them to, that is the reality of life, and coming to terms with it is one step forward in your glorious conformational change. I dream of the advent of a world where we cancel our “Can'ts” and throw them out of our heads. Good luck on your journey ahead, always remember you are not alone, reach out and talk to positively minded individuals, for we are the company we keep.
Wow. This is an eye opener for me. We are actually the company we keep. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks for highlighting the beauty of being positive🤗🤗🤗
